Boxes are the most common application for a UniMove system. Determining which system to utilize depends on a number of variables. Some rules apply for all boxes; namely, it is safest to lift as close to the edge (spine) of the box as possible. So when given the choice, the suction feet will be out towards the outside of the box, rather than the inside. While our system is perfectly capable of lifting an un-taped box, we would prefer that they are taped.
Star Label
Most boxes have a “star label” which lists max weight it can hold (amongst other things). If the box is being packed with greater than the star label, it is not safe to lift. If there is no star label, UniMove will request a sample for evaluation.
Porosity
All boxes are porous by nature. This porosity varies from box to box. Due to this, UniMove may request a sample to evaluate before giving our final recommendation.
